Botswana Diamonds Applies for 12 Additional Licenses“A new chapter in diamond exploration”...

Botswana Diamonds has deployed technology with an undisclosed diamond producer that has helped to identify new exploration targets in northeastern Botswana. Accordingly, the technology has the potential to “write a new chapter in diamond exploration,” said the company’s president, John Teeling.

He added that the program enabled Botswana Diamonds to apply for 12 additional exploration licenses, following positive analysis of the new targets. Once the licenses are obtained, the company will commence detailed ground prospecting.

“The exact legal details of a formal joint venture with the diamond producer are being finalized,” Teeling added. In February, exploratory drilling will begin on our wholly owned license PL170 in Botswana and we are looking to expand our exploration ground by applying for the land next to this license.

“Looking at other avenues of production, Botswana Diamonds continues in discussion with C&K Mining of South Korea, concerning possible cooperation on the diamondiferous paleoplacer deposit in eastern Cameroon,” he said.
