More than 150,000 new designs in gold, diamond, pearls and precious stone jewelry, not to mention watches from 12 countries and territories are on display at the Vietnam Jewelry Week 2010, which opened yesterday in Ho Chi Minh City.
Fair organizers said the event offers a rare opportunity for foreign and domestic businesses to explore latest product designs and seek suppliers and buyers. It will help businesses expand operations and keep up with the latest trends in the world. Apart from host Vietnam, firms from France, Hong Kong, India, Israel, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Turkey, Thailand and the U.S. are presenting their collections at the event.
Turkey is participating for the first time in Jewelry Week with leading firms such as Cetas Jewelery, Gulacti Kuyumculuk, Lara Kuyumculuk and Altinbas Mucevhera in attendance.
Orkun Yaman from Turkey's ARPAS AS Co., one of the biggest gold jewelery suppliers in Vietnam, said his company is seeking new potential customers through this event. Vietnam is seen as a market with great potential for jewelery and watches.
A huge variety of diamonds and gemstones have been brought by big firms such as Hong Kong's Antwerp Classic Diamond, Japan's Apple Green Diamond, U.S.'s Diasource, India's Kapu Gems and Hong Kong's Sejal Gems.
The sixth annual International Jewelry & Watch Week Vietnam will close on December 12 at the Tan Binh Exhibition and Convention Centre.
A similar week will be held in Hanoi from December 16 to 19. That event is organized by the VCCI Exhibition Service Co. Ltd. in collaboration with Hong Kong's World Trade Fair Ltd.
