Israel’s Polished Diamond Export Rises 4% in November

Israel’s polished diamond exports rose 4 percent year on year to $549.6 million in November, according to the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS). Rough exports grew 20 percent to $307.9 million and total exports of rough and polished increased 9 percent to $857.5 million.
Total imports of polished and rough diamonds rose 4 percent to $726 million. Israel’s net diamond account, the extent to which exports exceeded imports, jumped 51 percent to $131.5 million.
During the first 11 months of the year, Israel’s polished exports rose 49 percent to $5.41 billion, while rough exports increased 66 percent to $2.89 billion. Total rough and polished imports grew 65 percent to $7.14 billion.
Israel’s net diamond account for January through November rose 11 percent to $1.16 billion.
