Yair Shimansky, who created $2.6 million soccer ball from diamond, South Africa’s premier platinum and diamond jewelery company, are now bringing to market their exceptional Brilliant 10™ diamond which was designed and patented by Yair Shimansky in South Africa.

Yair Shimansky (Left)The Brilliant 10 diamond is the most brilliant cut diamond in the world. Each facet is shaped in a precise and calculated technique to reveal a perfect 10 arrows pattern when viewed from above and a perfect 10 hearts pattern when viewed from below through the Ideal Scope. The precise positioning of its 71 facets in perfect proportion and symmetry determines the unique brilliance of this diamond – a world first in the diamond industry.

The Brilliant 10 diamond has been tested by international diamond laboratory in Europe and, more recently, by a Brilliant Analysis machine at an international jewellery trade show where it achieved the highest score ever recorded. Each Brilliant 10 diamond is certified by the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) and laser inscribed with a unique ID and the Brilliant 10 trademark.

A widely held opinion by experts and aficionados alike is that a diamond’s cut is the most important of the ‘4Cs’. Regardless of carat, colour or clarity, a poorly cut diamond will unavoidably be lacklustre. Shimansky's expert diamond cutters have utilised advanced technical skill to cut and polish the Brilliant 10. Only a limited amount of rough diamonds are suitable to polish into the Brilliant 10. Every single facet of the diamond is precisely crafted and aligned, resulting in a diamond of unparalleled symmetry. In addition, the diamond goes through no less than 25 check points before leaving the Shimansky factory.

“The person in pursuit of owning the perfect diamond need look no further,” says CEO, Yair Shimansky. “While a normal round brilliant cut diamond can have up to 25% leakage, there is 0% leakage from the Brilliant 10,” he continues. Taking up to three times longer to cut, and polished only by a handful of skilled master diamond polishers, the essence of this patented cut is its ability to reflect light that enters the diamond back through the table and the crown alike. The result is a diamond that reflects light with intensity like no other as all the light that enters the diamond is reflected back. “This means the brilliant 10 diamond displays up to 25% more brilliance than a normal diamond and is up to two shades whiter in colour than its actual colour,” explains Shimansky.

With a design philosophy that revolves around creating timeless pieces that symbolize and celebrate special milestones in people’s lives, Yair Shimansky states: “This diamond is for the special woman in your life that is 10 out 10 and like the rough crystal from which it is cut, is scarce and in limited supply. It may cost slightly more than a traditional cut, however, it is a small price to pay for a lifetime of brilliance.”

The patent on the Brilliant 10 diamond has been in effect since 2005. Local and international customers can also purchase the Brilliant 10 diamond on-line from Shimansky.
