Diamdel reported that fourth quarter 2010 rough sales online included 289 lots spanning goods in the -3grainers, 3-8grainers, 2-15 carat and +15 carat size ranges. Some 217 companies participated in the bidding and 89 firms won lots.

During the whole of second half 2010, Diamdel made available 532 lots at auction, 98 percent of which were sold upon being presented to bidders.

Neil Ventura, chief executive of Diamdel, said, “In quarter-four we again witnessed a very strong level of demand with the highest levels of repeat participation from our customers of the year, breaching the previous highs we witnessed in quarter-three.”

Specifically, Diamdel made 130 lots of rough diamonds available in the November and December sales cycle to bidders from the list of Diamond Trading Company (DTC) sightholders as well as non-sightholders.

Demand for rough was described to have crossed all major customer segments and geographies and the auctions "efficiently and effectively allocated lots to winning buyers" out of Asia Pacific, the Middle East and Europe.

Diamdel reported that 127 different businesses participated during the November and December cycle and 58 different companies won lots.

Fewer DTC sightholders participated than had been the case during the October and November cycle. Non-sightholder purchases represented 57 percent of total sales.

Diamdel Israel also celebrated the opening of its new offices on January 16, with 300 guests. The new premises are situated on the 11th floor of the Yahalom Building in Ramat Gan.

Limor Rosner, head of sales for Diamdel Israel, said, “We are delighted to move into offices that will offer our Israeli customers more comfort, time and ultimately buying opportunities at our online auction events in 2011.”
